Behringer 1273 2-Channel Class-A Microphone Preamplifier with 3-Band EQ

The Behringer 1273 is a 2-channel discrete Class-A microphone preamplifier with a built-in 3-band EQ, inspired by the legendary 1073. All-discrete Class-A circuitry and custom-built Midas input and output transformers give it a rich, vintage character with high signal integrity, while an electronically controlled stepped gain switch delivers up to 80 dB of clean, repeatable gain.

Each channel handles mic, line, and instrument sources, with an inductor-based 3-band EQ (switchable low, mid, and high bands) and a 5-position passive high-pass filter for shaping tone. A Tone switch changes the input transformer impedance to suit different mics, and dedicated switches cover +48V phantom, phase invert, insert, line, and EQ bypass for quick processed-vs-clean comparison. Connectivity includes XLR-1/4" combo inputs, dedicated XLR mic and line inputs, instrument inputs, balanced XLR outputs, and insert send/return, with a 7-segment LED meter per channel. It fits a 2U rack and uses an integrated universal power supply.
